Tea bags were first invented by New York tea seller Thomas Sullivan. Around 1908, Sullivan began sending tea samples to his clients in small silk bags. And some clients began not to pour tea from a bag into boiling water, but put it entirely in water. This is how the tea bag came about.

The Mayan and Aztec cultures were the first to make hot chocolate. This precursor to hot chocolate was used for religious ceremonies such as coming of age or weddings.
